πΏ *Ingredients:*
*For the dal:*
➡️ 1 cup masoor dal (red lentils)
➡️ 3 cups water
➡️ 1 medium onion, chopped
➡️ 1 tomato, chopped
➡️ 1 green chili, slit
➡️ ½ tsp turmeric powder
➡️ Salt to taste
*For the tadka (tempering):*
➡️ 2 tbsp ghee or oil
➡️ 1 tsp cumin seeds
➡️ 2–3 garlic cloves (finely chopped)
➡️ 1 dry red chili
➡️ 1 pinch asafoetida (hing)
➡️ ½ tsp red chili powder
➡️ Fresh coriander leaves for garnish πΏ
π©π³ *Instructions:*
1. Wash the dal thoroughly and pressure cook it with water, onion, tomato, green chili, turmeric, and salt for 3–4 whistles.
2. Once cooked, mash lightly and simmer for 5 minutes to get a smooth consistency.
3. In a small pan, heat ghee. Add cumin seeds and let them splutter.
4. Add garlic, red chili, and hing — sautΓ© till golden.
5. Add red chili powder and pour the tempering over the cooked dal.
6. Mix well and garnish with coriander leaves.
